CMS Awards C-HIT Contract to Operate, Maintain, and Enhance CPI API Gateway
Columbia, MD, June 10, 2026 – Chags Health Information Technology, LLC (C-HIT), a Maryland-based systems integrator, has been awarded a contract by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) to provide operations, maintenance, upgrades, and enhancements of CPI’s Application Programming Interface Gateway (APIGW) system. A critical component of the CMS ecosystem capturing data elements from the National Plan and Provider Enumeration System (NPPES), Provider Enrollment, Chain and Ownership System (PECOS), Unified Case Management (UCM), and One Program Integrity (OnePI), the API Gateway manages, secures, and optimizes access and distribution of sensitive healthcare information from providers and investigative systems at CPI.
In addition to O&M and operations and service support, C-HIT will provide systems monitoring, infrastructure, architecture, and security support, as well as API development, management, and integration.
